It’s About People 2022 – Certificate of Appreciation

Dear Mr Martin Rowinski, CEO

Boardsi, Las Vegas

On behalf of Alma Mater Europaea, I sincerely thank you for the contributions you made at the 10th conference organised by Alma Mater Europaea and the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, “It’s About People 2022: Embracing Digital Transformation for a Sustainable and Ethical Future”, which was hosted by the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor. In particular, I would like to thank you for performing as a panellist at the round table “The Role of Outside Board Members in Corporations”.

In the introductory part of this year’s conference, eminent speakers explained their views on social and technological developments. Digitisation is not just a technological mega-trend. It is an opportunity to use innovation responsibly and ethically to enhance society and increase economic performance. More broadly, it can address societal and environmental challenges, such as demographic trends and climate change. During one of the greatest crises on European soil since World War II, the speakers emphasised their shared values, such as democracy, protecting human rights, caring for all human beings, eliminating differences, resolving conflicts without creating new injustices or victims, and respecting diversity on a personal level and among societies.

Dear  Martin Rowinski, we are very grateful for your contributions to the conference. We look forwards to our future cooperation, and we warmly invite you to join us next year at our conference “It’s About People 2023”.

On behalf of the organising committee of the conference, once again, a sincere thank you for attending and all the best.

Sincerely,

Prof. dr. Ludvik Toplak

President of AMEU – ECM

Vice-rector of AMEU

Why High-Level Introductions Are the Hidden Engine of Effective Board Governance

High-level introductions are one of the most underutilized advantages in modern board governance. The most effective boards don’t just advise—they connect, opening doors to capital, talent, and strategic partnerships. When leveraged intentionally, these introductions become a powerful driver of growth, trust, and long-term value creation.

Most Boards Were Built for a Pre-AI World. The Gap Is Now Visible.

Artificial intelligence is no longer a future consideration for boards. It is a present responsibility. While most organizations recognize the importance of AI, few have adapted their governance structures to match its complexity. The result is a growing gap between awareness and accountability. As AI reshapes risk, strategy, and decision making across the enterprise, boards must move beyond discussion and build the experience, composition, and clarity required to govern effectively in this new environment .
